The press groups Ambedkar PRESS council chief Raavan Dhabe, Marathi Patrakar Sangh Dist. Chief Nankishor Toshniwal, Rajya Marathi Patrakar Sangh Dist. Chief Pradyumna Girikar journalists associations have submitted memorandum to Chief Minster Udhav Thackrey and demanded stern action against the assaulters of Kanhaiya Khandelwal. About 60 journalists have signed the memorandum. ASI Omkant Chincholkar of Traffic Branch, Hingoli City has allegedly beaten up Khandelwal on Sunday. According to the journalist Kanhaiya Khandelwal, the police had took him to office of Traffic Branch and in locked room assaulted him lathis and API Chincholkar had attempted to shoot him by service revolver. Local journalists associations have demanded to register offence under section 307 of IPC against the erring cops in this regard. The journalist Kanhaiya Khandelwal has given his statement to the city police today. But till 10 pm no offence was registered against the police.
पत्रकारांनी पोलिसांवर गुन्हे दाखल करण्याची मागणी केली आहे. याबाबत आज खंडेलवाल यांनी सामान्य रुग्णालयात जबाब दिला आहे. मात्र पोलिसांनी रात्री उशिरापर्यंत गुन्हा दाखल केला नव्हता. त्यामुळे पोलीस याबाबत निःपक्षपाती कारवाई करतील याची आशा मावळली आहे.
